A taste of California Wines

To get the taste of California wines you should definitely visit Napa Valley. It's about 2 hours north of San Francisco and can easily be a day trip. Most people prefer to make it a whole weekend affair though. Then they get to stay at some of the greatest Bed & Breakfast places, eat at some of the top restaurants in the country and taste some of the best wine in the word.
You will have a great experience visiting Napa no matter what part of the year it is. In our opinion though the area offers its best during fall, when the aroma of the harvest and vines tickles your nose and sets the mood to relaxation and happiness.
If you have just one day to see Napa Valley the best way to get around is by limousine. Renting a limo wine tour is not that expensive, will allow everyone to drink more and focus on having fun. The limo drivers also know the vinyards very well and can get you to the ones you want to see more quickly.
If you are going to do a two or three day trip to Napa Valley, your best option is probably to drive there. Spending more than a day will allow you to take more tours of vinyards and not feel rushed at every stop. If you are a real wine expert, you will need more than a day, so you can try the wines paired with food at some of the restaurants in addition to the tastings at the vinyards.
The best and most romantic places in Napa Valley are Inns and Bed & Breakfast places. There are many of them but make sure you make reservations in advance, if you are planning on a weekend trip, since Napa Valley is very popular every weekend. Besides wineries, Napa valley is a great destination for a weekend of relaxation, which many people do by staying at a resort with a spa or going to one of the many spas in the area. Besides wine tasting, most wineries will have tours of their facilities. These tours can be very interesting, if you have never seen how wine is made.
